Truck Mounted Crane Course

The course meets the Department of Labour (OSH) and NZQA requirements for operating these cranes. Contents of the course include: Theory Presentation

  • Site Safety
  • Maintenance of equipment and Hiab
  • Load security
  • Rated Capacity and Safe Working Loads (SWL)
  • Written assessment

Practical Training

  • Maintenance Checks of equipment
  • Slinging, lifting, maneuvering, and placing loads
  • Securing Loads
  • Practical assessment

Equipment: Training will be conducted at the clients’ venue. A suitable lecture room needs to be available for the theory presentation, as well as a vehicle (with mounted crane) and various “dummy loads” for the practical activities.

Duration: One Day – (8am – 4pm approx.), depending on numbers attending and previous experience. A Refresher course normally takes 4 – 5 hours, depending on numbers attending.

$260 + GST.
8am – 4pm each day, or until assessments / driving tests completed.
Successful individuals receive our “company” Certificate, as well as a wallet-size Operator Card. Individuals must achieve 100% correct in theory tests, and practical assessment. These tests are “open book” tests. Retests will be conducted if required.
“Operator (OSH)” qualification needs to be renewed every three years.

This course covers the following NZQA Unit Standards;

1754:
Operate Truck-Mounted Load Lifting Equipment Level 3, Credits 5

All NZQA credits are forwarded to NZQA for registration, once the course has been successfully completed.
