Truck Mounted Crane

The course meets the Work Safe and NZQA requirements for operating these cranes. Contents of the course include:

Theory Presentation

  • Site Safety & PPE
  • Maintenance of equipment and Hiab
  • Load security
  • Rated Capacity and Safe Working Loads (SWL)
  • Legislative Requirements
  • Written assessment

Practical Training

  • Maintenance Checks of equipment & PPE
  • Slinging, lifting, maneuvering, and placing loads
  • Securing Loads
  • Practical assessment

Equipment:

Training will be conducted at the clients’ venue. A suitable lecture room needs to be available for the theory presentation, as well as a vehicle (with mounted crane) and various “dummy loads” for the practical activities.

Duration:

One Day – (8am – 4pm approx.), depending on numbers attending and previous experience. A Refresher course normally takes 4 – 5 hours, depending on numbers attendin

Certificate:

Successful individuals receive our “company” Certificate, as well as a wallet-size Operator Card.  Retests will be conducted if required.

NOTE:

“Operator certification of competency” qualification needs to be renewed every three years.
