Individuals who wish to reduce time in gaining a FULL CLASS 2 license, and already hold a Class 2 Learner License, can do so by attending our Class 2 License Course. Individuals will be required to attend 2 days’ theory training before undertaking a practical driving assessment (NZTA requirement). Our course is conducted as follows;

Day One:

Theory training covering Fatigue Management, and the use of Driver Logbooks. Individuals then complete 2 x written assessments. 8am – 4pm.

Day Two:

Theory training covering Heavy Vehicle Dynamics, Loading, Hazard Recognition, etc. followed by a written assessment. 8am – 4pm

 

We offer a 3 day course which incorporates Learner License Training.

Getting your Class 2 Learners

For individuals who wish to get their class 2 learners you will need to pass the class 2 learners test at the VTNZ.  Prior to attending the course you should be studying the questions in the Class 2 learners Booklet above, to increase your chances of passing on the day.  The course costs includes the test fee for your 1st attempt.

To be eligible to sit the learners test, the NZTA requires 

  • You have held  a class 1 NZ Full licence for minimum 6 months
  • That you have a medical certificate completed & signed by doctor must be on DL9 Form no older than 60 days or have lodged a medical on your licence previously within the last 5 years

Must Have for the Class 2 Learners Course

To be eligible to sit the learners test, the NZTA requires 

  • You have held  a class 1 NZ Full licence for minimum 6 months

  • All students are required to bring their National Student Number (NSN) with them to the course.  If you do not know the number you can contact the NZQA prior to attending the course, call 0800 697 296 Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.  Or contact them via their website New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and use the chat bot.

    If you haven't done a course in NZ you won't have a NSN, we will apply for one for you.  If you are having problems getting your NSN we can help you.

Driving Assessment:

Individuals are required to undergo a 40 – 50 minute driving assessment, conducted during Day Two or on a 3rd day. (Time will be arranged on Day One)

Cost:

$1,000 + GST (2 day course)

$1,200 +GST (3 day course)

Duration:

8am – 4pm each day, or until assessments / driving assessment completed.

Certificate:

Successful individuals will receive a NZTA Driver License certificate, which they need to present to a License Testing Agency, in order to receive their FULL Class License. (fee: $47-00 approx).

NZQA Unit Standards:

This course covers the following NZQA Unit Standards;

24089:Demonstrate knowledge of fatigue management, Work Time, and Driver Logbook requirements. (Level 3, credits 5)

All credits are reported to NZQA for recording on your Record of Achievement, once the course has been completed successfully.
